“The Theory of Everything’s” Felicity Jones is in talks for the lead in Gareth Edwards’ standalone “Star Wars” spinoff.
Jones apparently beat out other actresses for the part, including “Orphan Black’s” Tatiana Maslany and Rooney Mara.
Edwards will helm with a screenplay written by Chris Weitz from Gary Whitta’s draft.
Plot details remain unknown but the film will be released on December 16, 2016.
