Egerton up for young Han Solo?

Suddenly, Aaron Paul’s no longer the favourite to play juvenile Han Solo.

According to The Sun (via io9), there’s a new candidate lined-up to reprise the role made famous by Harrison Ford in a rumoured movie prequel that takes place before the events of 1977’s “Star Wars”.

Taron Egerton, the breakout star of “Kingsman : The Secret Service”, is said to be Disney’s man.

The film, says the aforesaid outlet, will shoot at Pinewood Studios and overlap with 007 flick “Spectre” which wraps shooting in late March/early April.

The standalone “Star Wars” movie is based on a script by Gary Whitta, with “Twilight : Eclipse” helmer Chris Weitz on rewrite duties. The story is said to be somewhat of a heist yarn, with Han Solo and Boba Fett figuring into proceedings. Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla”) is directing.
