Oscar winner, MTV alum join LFE

Oscar winner Melissa Leo has joined the cast of CBS medical drama “LIFE”, according to Variety.

The series, fixing on second-year residents at the top hospital in New York City, as they attempt to balance their “god complexes” with their humanity, hails from CBS Television Studios and Paul Downs Colaizzo, who penned the scripts and will serve as a co-executive producer.

Leo (“Frozen River”, “The Fighter”) will play Julie, ”an attending physician in the surgical wing and a den mother to the second-year residents.”

Daniel Sherman (“Teen Wolf”) has also been cast, playing Joe, “a good-hearted, expertly talented surgical resident”.

“30 Days of Night” alum David Slade will direct the pilot.
