Noyce directing Ambulance remake

Aussie director Phillip Noyce (“Salt”) will direct “Ambulance”, a remake of the 2005 Danish film “Ambulancen”.

Per THR, the movie is set up with Good Universe and Mythology Entertainment with Brad Fischer, James Vanderbilt and William Sherak producing. “Chuck” co-creator Chris Fedak wrote the script.

The new version, said to be a cross between “Heat” and “Dog Day Afternoon”, will again tell of “two desperate brothers who attempt a robbery in order to pay for their dying mother’s health care. The job goes south and during their escape, they steal an ambulance. But things only get worse when they discover it’s occupied by a dying heart patient.”

Original producers Tomas Radoor and Rene Ezra will also exec produce. “Terminator : Genisys” writer Laeta Kalogridis is amongst other EPs on the project.

Noyce’s latest feature was “The Giver”.
