Brie Larson to replace Jennifer Lawrence in The Glass Castle

attends Variety Awards Studio - Day 1 at the Leica Gallery and Store on November 20, 2013 in West Hollywood, California.

Brie Larson is in early talks to join “The Glass Castle”.

Larson would take on the lead role which Jennifer Lawrence was once tied to.

The adaptation of Jeannette Walls’ 2006 memoir will be directed by Larson’s “Short Term 12” helmer Destin Daniel Cretton. The first draft of the script was penned by Marti Noxon with follow ups by Cretton and Andrew Lanham.

The book centers on Walls’ upbringing in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads.

Lawrence initially joined the project as star and producer in late 2013, however as the project stalled the star eventually dropped out.

THR first reported the news.
