When being introduced to “RWBY” volumes one and two via DVD one might be shocked to learn it’s a web series you can watch for free on YouTube. The cause of the surprise is the treatment of “RWBY” – which is an animated series birthed by Rooster Teeth, the same company who brought us all “Red vs Blue.” The series which was created by the late Monty Oum follows the story of team RWBY as they train to fight monsters known as Grimm and protect their community from criminals. The show exhibits some of the most stunning artwork, effects, and music that can be seen in animation currently.
Recently at NYCC 2015 I had the pleasure of sitting down with some of the Rooster Teeth/”RWBY” team Miles Luna (Jaune Arc/co-writer/co-director), Gray G. Haddock (Torchwick/Head of Rooster Teeth Animation/co-director “RWBY” v.III/), Kerry Shawcross (Neptune/co-writer/co-director “RWBY” v.III), Lindsay Jones (Ruby), Barbara Dunkelman (Yang). In addition to discussing some of what we can expect to see in volume three we spoke about their collaboration with Warner Bros, the release of the “RWBY” videogame and how you can get it to PC, international fame and having fun with their characters off camera.
