Ryan Gosling takes one small step…

Ryan Gosling is circling Universal’s Neill Armstrong biopic “First Man” for “Whiplash” helmer Damien Chazelle, says Deadline.

Scripted by Josh Singer, the pic would lift it’s yarn from James Hansen’s biography “First Man: A Life Of Neil A. Armstrong”.

Clint Eastwood was once attached to direct the film when it was housed at Warner. The Universal incarnation has Temple Hill partners Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen producing.

Gosling is currently working with Chazelle on “La La Land”, a musical set in contemporary L.A and starring Gosling and Emma Stone. Assumingly, Chazelle brought the Armstrong biopic up on set with Gosling and it’s triggered the interest of the “Drive” actor.
