Bazz’s romantic epic has a title

What’s the $130 million dollar pic called?

Bazz Luhrmann has finally decided on a title for his new romantic epic starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman.

“Gone with the Wolverine”.

Or not. Nope, in fact it’ll simply be called “Australia”, the filmmaker announced today.

According to Variety, ‘Australia’ will lens in the northern desert for five months starting in March, with workshops pegged for Fox Studios Sydney next month.

Toplined by Kidman and Jackman, the $130 million pic is the director’s first since “Moulin Rouge” in 2001.

Kidman will portray an English aristocrat who settles on an outback station in the 1930s, Jackman an Outback drover. The pair are caught up in the bombing of Darwin during WWII.

Luhrmann has been developing pic Down Under this year. Russell Crowe was attached but exited midyear. Numerous writers including Aussie Stuart Beattie have drafted the script.
