Comic-Con : Stoll, Lily join Ant-Man

News direct from the Hall H presentation at Comic-Con, Evangeline Lily and Corey Stoll have joined the cast of Marvel’s “Ant-Man”.

Lily (“The Hobbit”) will play Janet Van Dyne, daughter of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), while Stoll (“House of Cards”) is the villain Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket.

“Corey brings depth to every role he plays”, Marvel CEO Kevin Feige said. “As a major part of the Ant-Man ensemble, we all wanted an actor who could be both cunning and sympathetic, and help create a character as dynamic as Marvel’s best antagonists.”

It’s believed Stoll, whose other credits include “Non-Stop” and “Salt”, is replacing Patrick Wilson, who departed due to a scheduling conflict.

Of Lily, Feige said “We’ve been fans of Evangeline for years, and couldn’t be more pleased that she’s agreed to join us on Ant-Man’s journey to the big screen. We look forward to audiences learning more about her character when she joins forces with Hank Pym and Scott Lang in 2015.”

Also starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Michael Peña, “Ant-Man” hops into theaters July 17, 2015.
