Big news for comic book lovers! Out of Comic Con, WB Animation’s Bruce Timm has announced that beloved ‘Batman’ graphic novel “The Killing Joke” is being turned into an animated movie. Even better, it’ll be written by the graphic novel’s author Alan Moore and Brian Bolland!
First published in 1988, “The Killing Joke” is an origin story for the Joker, depicting him as a failed stand-up comedian who agrees to aid a gang of criminals and is thwarted by the superhero Batman before being disfigured; in doing so he is driven insane and attains his supervillain persona.
A 15-minute prologue will be added to the movie, which will hit sometime next year.
