Q.With Joss Whedon off “Wonder Woman” but about to launch Buffy The Vampire Slayer’s 8th season as a comic series,I got to thinking. In a recent interview at VH1,he said he still would be interested in working with SMG and DB on a ‘Buffy’ movie and the season 8 comics wouldn’t prevent that however unlikely it is to happen. Now it seems CGI Animated movies are all the rage. With the upcoming ‘TMNT’,which SMG herself is voicing April O’Neal, and the announcement of a CGI Animated “Ghostbusters 3” with the original cast back doing their character’s voices, what do you think of a CGI Animated ‘Buffy Movie’ with the cast doing the voices? It would be an easier way of bringing all the cast back including the leads and possibly more enticing, as well as give even more freedom then a live action movie to go wild with larger scaled things. Do you think this is an interesting idea? I would figure, the Buffyverse would be perfect for this. They tried to do a traditional animated series but not a CGI Animated movie. Or what about a CGI Animated Fray movie based off Joss Whedon’s futuristic slayer comic miniseries. Come to think of it, Fray would probably be even more perfect for this format, wouldn’t it? – Nila
A. Both would be good. I would totally see a “Buffy” CGI film – and I can see the fans really getting wet over it. Thing is, I don’t see Joss being able to coax Sarah Michelle Gellar or David Boreanaz back to reprise their characters (even if they are just voice-overs); both of them seem to be glad to have seen the back of the characters, and have been pretty vocal in their disinterest of returning to do any kind of ‘Buffy’ movie or telemovie. Hopefully, they’ll come around in the near future and agree to do something else in the ‘Buffy-verse’ but in the meantime, I think they’re quite happy not living near the Hell Hole. Having said that, I don’t quite understand why the network didn’t go for the “Spike” or “Willow” telemovies, fans would’ve really got into those – especially the ‘Spike’ one – and both could’ve revived the whole Buffy-verse. If they didn’t get off the ground though, you can only imagine how much work it would be to do something that includes the title characters. Maybe a “Fray” TV series, though?

Q.enjoy the link. I loved it, and now I know how to dance! – Blake
A. Speaking of, I was told to cut back on the caffeine yesterday. Apparently I was ripping everyone a new arsehole that called… poor telemarketers. Anyway, um, you didn’t hear? The cancellation of “Carnivale” had nothing to do with Stahl [or any of the actors]. Here’s the vintage link. No updates on “Todd”; not since Alan Rickman and Sacha Baron Cohen were announced. No word on “The Fountain” yet. And yes, you can dance.

Q.The “Batman”/Katie video makes me sad. Thank you Moviehole and Happy Valentines day. – Lani
A. OK, that’s the last one. Promise. Swear on the church of L.Ron Hubbard.

Q.Hey, I was just wondering about a couple of movies. I just want to know if the two movies, “Sky High” and “The Incredibles” will have a sequel in the near future. I have been trying to find out for the longest. So if u can please let me know. Thanks. – Trey
A. Hey Trey, say hi to your brother Ryan for me. Nope, no plans for either to be sequelized – especially “Sky Hugh”, which didn’t generate nearly enough money to warrant a follow-up. There were plans to turn it into a TV series at one stage, but I haven’t heard anything about that in ages.

Q.Dear Moviehole.net, I just want to say thank you for all of your hard work. I check the site everyday and this is one of my favorite websites to get news.
I was wondering what’s the latest with “Jurassic Park 4”? One of the last updates you stated it was opening in 2008. Is this still the case and when can we expect to see more updates? Thank you!
– Justin
A. You were so nice, too, but there’s nothing I can tell you sorry. Feel so bad. Last I heard, it may feature dinosaurs? And maybe scientists? Does that help?

Q.Hey Clint… So Adrien Brody is rumoured to be playing the hulk? That’s the worst rumour ever – he looks like a stick… I wonder if they would change the structure of the hulk’s nose to fit Adriens? I prefer Mark Wahlberg to play the Hulk, what do u think?? Will that work?? – Modz
A. C’mon, Brody would be great… When he gets angry… his nose grows!

Q.Loved Caffeinated Clint this week. I think Muse Watson would be great as Thunderbolt Ross in “The Hulk 2” – Marlon
A. Hear Ya.

Q.Yes to Muse Watson in “Hulk 2”, No to Diane Lane in “Weird Science”, Yes to Nathan Fillion as “The Green Arrow”. – Arek
A. What about Patrick Swayze as Captain America? (Ouch! Who threw that!)

Q.The guy from “Prison Break” would be the best person to replace Sam Elliot in the “Hulk” sequel. He has ‘the’ look. – Tom
A. Yeah, I love the thought of L.J, too.

Q.I like that idea of Muse Watson as “The Hulk” baddie, but here’s another idea – John Cena as Bruce Banner! – Chris
A. I think it’s too late. Adrien Brody has it by a nose, I believe.

Q.I have made a conscious decision to boycott the next “Batman” film. I am a massive fan and think that Begins was amazing but if a studio cannot get it’s shit together enough to keep crucial cast members then fuck ’em they might as well get Schumacher to direct it. – Anonymous
A. Don’t despair, you tried.

Q.Adam said in his Weeksly Late Edition that it was Joel Schumacher who was miscast in “Batman & Robin”, not George Clooney. That doesn’t make sense. Can you explain? – Shannon
A. I guess he means Schumacher stuffed up the film – which he did. I still don’t think Clooney was the right choice to play Batman, though. Maybe Bruce Wayne, but not Batman. What do you guys think? Who was your favourite Batman? I actually didn’t mind Val Kilmer.

Q.I heard on the news that Keira Knightley might take some time off away from acting. Any truth to this Clint? – S.M
A. Yeah, the money I offered her to unstack my dishwasher – wearing nothing but French lingerie – was too good to refuse apparently.

Q.Dear Movie Hole, I am the director of “How To Eat Your Watermelon In White Company (and Enjoy It),” a feature-length documentary on Melvin Van Peebles. Over the past 18 months the film has had a successful run on the film-festival circuit. Now it’s about to make its television premiere on the IFC channel on Feb. 15 at 9 pm E.T. I thought that you and your readers would be interested in the film, which is why we’re reaching out to sites like yours. If I learned anything over the eight years I spent with Melvin shooting this film, it’s that you can’t rely on “traditional” avenues to spread the word. So much like Melvin did when he made “Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song” 35 years ago, we’re appealing directly to the community to help raise awareness of this remarkable man and his work. If you want more information, please visit our website ( http://www.mvpmovie.com ) which contains rare music and videos (including some outtakes from the film that have to be seen to be believed!), along with original essays and articles, photos and much more. Below is a synopsis of the film, several review blurbs, and important links. I hope you’ll find this worth sharing with your readers. – Joe
A. We will all check it out… as soon as the column is finished…. Oh, ‘Moviehole’ one word. Right on brudda.

Q.Howdy, I’m just been reading your movie preview/review site since another certain excellent movie site got bought out and eaten by another company about four years ago. I have no affiliation with any kind of tv/movie production/studio but I would like to create a pen pal style of relationship between any of you guys and myself as similar interests in aspects of film are apparent.
I have nothing to lose by writing something like this and I was wondering why you don’t mention any older sci-fi when talking about any modern sci-fi and why you never mention any computer/video games. These kind of games were such a valid creative output during the late 90’s and the early naughties that I don’t know how you couldn’t have been rating them as well.
You should be reviewing the excellent printed comic productions that occur as well as games and comics can reviewed with similar criteria as everything that you do right now.
I’m pretty pissed right now but I’ve been wanting to write to you for a while and I think you understand what mindset i am currently in.
I was actually motivated into writing this right now by watching the first highlander movie and acknowledging again what an inhumanly well made movie it is and will always have been.
Why is inventiveness like that so rare and why does a movie that impressive that well be made only happen approximately once a year.
Is there something else that we all can do as reviewers to make the movie design process better? Are there any online forms i can fill out that allow producers to understand why i go to the cinema? I am prepared to go to almost any lengths to promote the production of items that i like.
I realise you cant make happen what i want to make happen with cinema but you are my futile focus point at this point in time. Anyhoo… I wish the best of you,
– Peetron
A.. Firstly, I’m still pen pals with Willie Aames, so I don’t really have time for another. Secondly, I totally agree with your sentiments – today’s movies suck dog, yeah! – and can appreciate one being inebriated. I think you’ve probably got more use asking Holden to consider your ideas, and thoughts, than me though. Its he who studios take notice of. I love being a futile focus point… sounds kinda erotic.

Q.Enough with the 80s remakes of various things from my childhood but I am a huge Chevy Chase fan (only of the good movies, of course) and I don’t think anything can piss me off more than a remake of “Spies Like Us”. There is no way on this planet they’ll be able to find people good enough to replace Chase and Akyroyd. Why can’t they simply call it something else? Do they really have to use the exact same title? It’s not like they’re raping a once good series of movies for every last drop of money its mindless core audience will give them. (JAWS 5, Predator 3, Robocop remake). By all means, imaginationless, creativityless suit wearing drones that run studios in Hollywood. CHANGE THE NAME OF REMAKES. – Jon
A. Thank god there’s still one man out there making original, fresh, films that aren’t remakes of earlier ones, hey?

Q.Hi Clint, is it official that Robert DeNiro and Marky Mark are doing the Departed Sequel? Enjoy the weekend – Ewok
A. No, deals aren’t made that quick.

Q.Is Catherine Bell the JAG BABE part of Evan Almighty? – Artie
A. Yes.

Q.You make films, I read. And you produce. How about making a film about Katie Holmes? – Jonathan
A. It’s already been made. “Are We Done Wet?” opens in cinemas April 5th.
