Space movie starring Pratt, Lawrence gets the green light

Sony Pictures has greenlit “Passengers”, the big-budget science-fiction drama to star Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence, says Heat Vision.

The Village Roadshow/LStar produced film, set on a spacecraft transporting colonists (thousands of ’em) that malfunctions causing one of the passengers to awake ninety years before everyone else, has been on the cards for years. At one stage Keanu Reeves and Reese Witherspoon were circling, and later, Anne Hathaway.

“Jurassic World” star Pratt will nab $12M for the gig, while “Hunger Games” star Lawrence gets even more – $20M against 30% of the film’s profit.

“Imitation Game” director Morten Tyldum is directing.
