What does Cloverfield 3 and the Easter Bunny have in common?

They both now arrive at the same time.

A month out from its original release date, Paramount has pushed the third in Bad Robot’s “Cloverfield” series back to April.

The untitled film, previously known as “God Particle”, was scheduled to open February 2 but the studio (via Slashfilm) have now confirmed – after actress Elizabeth Debicki’s reps told Discussing Film the movie was currently undated – that they’re delaying it until April 20th.

This isn’t the first time the rather secretive project has been pushed. Originally, the Debicki-starrer was to open in February 2017, but was delayed so producer J.J Abrams could do some reshoots. The movie was then set for October, only to be pushed back to February of this year.

The feature directorial debut of Julius Onah, the film is said to follow a team of astronauts who find themselves trapped alongside a scientific experiment involving a particle accelerator that makes the whole Earth vanish. Daniel Bruhl, Aksel Hennie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chris O’Dowd, John Ortiz, David Oyelowo and Zhang Ziyi co-star.

The film follows “Cloverfield” (2008) and “10 Cloverfield Lane” (2016).
