A Quiet Place 2 nabs the the perfect writer!

The inevitable sequel to “A Quiet Place” has nabbed one helluva scribe – and we know it because he’s the same chap who blessed us with the first fabulous libretto, Jon Krasinski (Kraskinki co-write the original with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck).

Krasinski, who wrote and directed the hit spookfest, said this week that he’s going to write the film – before some hack gets the job (okay, not his words, but you know he means just that…).
Originally, the “Jack Ryan” actor planned on the film being a small intimate one-off movie experience that he and his wife would enjoy making together. He never expected the thing to bring home $334.5 million worldwide!

Speaking on Wednesday during a Q&A session at the Silver Screen Theatre in Los Angeles, the actor and filmmaker confirmed plans to write the screenplay.

“I had this small idea for a sequel, but I didn’t think it would go anywhere. So, I said to the studio, ‘Just go do the movie with somebody else.’ They heard some pitches, and I told [producer] Drew [Form] about this little idea. And he told me to think about it a little longer. And then I thought, ‘This might really work.’ So, I’m currently writing the sequel.”

As for whether Krasinski will direct? He isn’t set to do so… but I’d put money on him doing so, especially if he’s penning the script.

The sequel to “A Quiet Place” already has a release date – May 15th 2020 – so Krasinski best get that script locked.
