Alex Russell, the young actor who gives a superlative turn as the nasty-pastie Jake in new Aussie flick “Wasted on the Young”, has missed out on a starring role on the new “Dallas”.
The role that Russell was up for, that of Bobby and Pam Ewing’s adopted son Christopher, has instead gone to “Desperate Housewives” and “John Tucker Must Die” star Jesse Metcalfe, says Deadline. Metcalfe’s popularity with soap fans, and his eagerness to get undressed on screen, likely helped in his cause to be victor.
Julie Gonzalo, familiar to “Veronica Mars” fans as, will play Metcalfe’s on-screen fiancee.
Don’t sweat it Alex, you’ll snag something better in no time (see “Wasted on the Young” folks and you’ll know I’m right) – though, obviously, it won’t be with Patrick Duffy.
