In an awesome nod to “The O.C”, Cohen family patriarch Peter Gallagher has been cast as the as yet unseen father of Schmidt. (Max Greenfield).
Hardcore fans of “The O.C.” will recall that Greenfield was actually the Sandy that originally wooed a 22 year old Kirsten in flashbacks of when the parents first met.
According to TV Line, Gallagher, who is currently recurring on “The Good Wife”, is set to appear in one episode of “New Girl’s” upcoming fifth season, which is slated to debut in January.
