Robert Rodriguez to take web series Red Vs. Blue to the big(ger) screen

We’re huge fans of Rooster Teeth’s “Red vs. Blue” here at Moviehole, awarding them one of our esteemed (by us) Web Series Awards back in 2014, so we’re very excited by this news.

Writer / Producer / Director / Friend and Frequent Collaborator of Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez has announced via Twitter he is bringing the 14 season web series to television, reformatted into 95 half-hour episodes to the El Rey Network in December.

Based on the award-winning Halo video game franchise, “Red vs. Blue” is a comedic action series set in the distant future that tells the story of two groups of soldiers battling for control of the least desirable piece of real estate in the known universe – a box canyon in the middle of nowhere.  We still love to refer to pink as ‘light red’.
