Instead of just offering up huffy-nostriled smart-arse answers, I’ll try and actually come up with some sort of half-intelligent retort or answer for you. Try and stay on the topic of film and entertainment please but if you must, I will accept the odd question regarding hard-to-move grime from shower screens.

Thought I might as well shoot a question over to you since you’re offering.. Is that Tupac movie still happening? The one that you had character breakdowns up for a while back? Hoping they might be still casting…

It’s still on, yeah. Antoine Fuqua (“Training Day”) is directing, aiming for a mid-Summer shoot. The casting office says there’s only one major role left to fill – and you’ll have to have indulged in a few Krispy Kremes if you’ve any chance of getting this role. The part, of course, is for Suge Knight – described as being “built like a football player” and 6’2-64 and 275 Pounds plus. The materials says he’s “An enormous, menacing presence that made itself felt in any room he entered. Surprisingly soft spoken, his physical presence was all he needed to intimidate.” You’d be playing Suge in his late twenties, I believe – donut belly pending.

You keep saying this “Alien” prequel is still an “Alien” prequel – of some sort. What do you mean?

Look, it’s guesswork but everything we’ve heard up till this point – even from the actors in the film – suggest it’s still very much a prequel to the original film. Damon Lindelof was hired to rewrite an “Alien” prequel and ultimately handed in a film that didn’t much resemble one. So does this mean there’s no nods or references in the script to anything from Ridley’s 1979 film? Not at all; In fact, many have said they’ve already seen concept designs and sets being built that look awfully familiar. So why the change of title, press release (to say “it’s no longer Alien”) and misinformation campaign? I’d say it’s got a lot to do with “Alien 3” – despite the title, it wasn’t an “Alien” movie and audiences responded accordingly. I’m guessing “Prometheus” is going to be littered with links to the first “Alien” but, like Fincher’s artysy convict caper, it’s also going to be so tonally different and be much more of a character piece than “Alien” (or “Aliens”) fans would like. Fox don’t want to make the same mistake again. Maybe once the early reviews start coming out, and if they’re favourable, Rothman might advise the marketing department to add “Alien” into the title, i.e “Alien : Prometheus”. Again, just a guess. Even if that guess is wrong, the “Alien” series will continue – in another form. I don’t know much, but I’ve heard whispers that sequels (to the original quadrilogy – Ripley’s story) might be back on the cards; the whole ‘Alien Planet’ idea is still very much something everyone over at Fox and Scott Free are interested in. You ain’t see the last of Facehugger.

long time no hear. Depends – can you pass for a Native American? I ask because they’re the only roles in “Hyde Park on the Hudson” being cast at the moment – native American folklore performers from the Chickasaw Nation. These performers – Princess Te Ate, Ish Ti Opi, and Kurukus Pahitiwere – invited by Franklin D. Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor to provide entertainment during the King and Queen of England’s historic visit to President’s residence in Hyde Park in the ’30s. On a side note, I hear Bill Murray hasn’t even read the script for this yet.
Loved your podcast with Emilio Estevez. I know you made a movie with a Breakfast Club-ber so I assume that’s where you know Emilio from? Think he will do a sequel to it? Or “Stakeout”?

Thanks for listening. I don’t think there’ll be a sequel to a “Breakfast Club” – Hughes never wanted one (nor did he want to work with Judd Nelson again) and I think Paramount has long respected his (and now his Estate’s) wishes. Estevez actually mentioned a “Stakeout 3” on the podcast, saying “No, you know the second one was a complete disaster”, he says, “I think it opened in the states to like a $4 million weekend and we had spent four or five times that to make the sequel and… Well the thing about sequels is that they’re tricky. The conventional thinking is that we keep on window between the decay of the first one and at least mounting the second and we waited, what six years in between and that was just… It was too long.”

It’s not necessarily a “Young Guns 3” that they’re doing, just a “Young Guns” related project that they’re toying with – be that a remake, sequel, prequel, spin-off… I do not know.

You seem to be good at guessing films and stuff, was there ever a “Kickboxer” Part 5? I don’t remember seeing one but someone said they watched it…Didn’t it end at 3?

It should’ve ended at 3 (As a martial-arts fan, I actually didn’t mind the first couple of sequels but the rest were unwatchable) but there are two more “Kickboxer” films you’ve denied yourself the pleasure of – “Kickboxer 4 : The Aggressor” with Sasha Mitchell (reprising his role as ‘Van Damme’s brother’ from the previous two films) and “Kickboxer 5” with Mark Dacascos. Here’s clips fromBurn both of them – I think you’ll agree there’s no need to hunt either film down after sitting through these clips.
