Austin Powers 4 quietly coming together!?

Has Mike Myers just received the memo on Hollywood’s nostalgia woody!?

Seems so! And he’s clearly doing something about it…While fans of the equally-popular “Wayne’s World” series continue to implore for a Myers/Dane Carvey reunification threequel (likely to happen if the third “Bill & Ted”, featuring older incarnations of the characters played by Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves, respectively, is a hit), Myers seems about ready to resurrect his other famous franchise.

The former “Saturday Night Live” fave has teased fans with a fourth “Austin Powers” for several years now but recent evidence suggest the film might be quietly coming together behind the scenes.
Firstly, Myers – currently appearing in “Bohemian Rhapsody” – spoke about the possibility a few days back, hinting that something is bubbling away in his idea pot, and on Election Day, old foe Dr. Evil made a surprise TV return.

“It’s looking good, it’s just tough, you know, it takes a long time to write the script, you want it to be fantastic”, the 55-year-old actor told E! News last week at the premiere for the Queen biopic.
“I have three kids under the age of seven now, you know, [director] Jay [Roach] is just back to back making movies,” Myers continued. “But we’ve met and, I don’t know, it’s looking good, we’ll see.”

He also added, “I’d love to do it, it’s so much fun doing it.”

Myers returned as Dr Evil once again, this time to announce that the character is running for Congress.

One person that’ll be missing from the line-up should an “Austin Powers 4” come to fruition is the late Verne Troyer, who played Mini-Me. He’ll be sorely missed.
