Hot on the tinted specs of “Venom”, Sony have spun the wheels on another non-MCU title, a Black Cat and Silver Sable team-up movie.
Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet will pen the most recent draft of “Silver & Black”, which sees the crook-beseeching mercenary and the rob-the-rich-to-give-to-the-poor robber Black Cat getting together to take down – I’m guessing here – some sort of common enemy.
Gina Prince-Bythewood (“The Secret Life of Bees”) will direct the film, her second job for Marvel after the “Cloak & Dagger” pilot over at Freeform.
Beer and Robertson-Dwoert, whose many, many upcoming films include – either together or separately – “Tomb Raider”, “Barbie”, “Chaos Walking”, “Godzilla vs. King” and Tarantino’s forthcoming “Star Trek”, are high in-demand with the big ticket studios. Bythewood is doing a polish of their “Silver & Black” draft.
With Tom Holland’s Peter Parker reportedly popping up in “Venom”, appearing alongside Tom Hardy’s title character, there’s a fair chance that the webslinger will appear in the “Silver & Black” flick.
“Silver & Black” opens Feb 8, 2019.
