The true story behind The Cat in the Hat, anyone!?

Stephen Chbosky, author and director of “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” book and feature, will helm a biopic about Theodor Geisel, the beloved author known as Dr. Seuss.

Written by Jonathan Stewart and Eyal Podell, and produced by Carla Hacken, the film will fix on Geisel as he struggles to find his voice as a writer before meeting his muse, future wife Helen Palmer.

Thirty years later, as Helen succumbs to illness and Geisel’s career fizzles, she inspires him to write “The Cat in the Hat”.

Chbosky’s last film, “Wonder” raked in $285 million worldwide.
