Bridget Jones is Havin’ a Baby!

Back in October,”Bridesmaids” director Paul Feig had been on-board to direct the third installment in the “Bridget Jones” series but left the project because Universal Pictures and Working Title Films didn’t feel Feig – an American – directing was the best idea so Feig just shrugged it off and left. In fact, Feig and the studios all agreed that they need a British director to direct a British comedy.

So here we are today and we’ve learned that “The Full Monty” director Peter Cattaneo is in talks to direct “Bridget Jones’s Baby”, the Universal Pictures/Working Title sequel that brings back Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant.

According to MSN, the film will reportedly center on Bridget and Mark Darcy’s inability to conceive a baby. Crushed by physical impossibilities, Bridget leaves the lovely Mark, goes back to the dastardly Daniel Cleaver, and gets knocked up.

Shooting is expected to begin early next year according to Deadline.
