Casting: Ice Cube, Paxton, Brody, CHiPs, Walking Dead, Daredevil, Once Upon A Time

Ice Cube is set to play Scrooge in “Humbug”.

Universal Pictures Bought the script from writers Todd R Jones and Earl Richey Jones with Ice Cube attached to star and Tim Story set to helm.

Described as “a contemporary retelling of the Charles Dickens’ tale “A Christmas Carol”, “Humbug” will see Cube play “a wealthy real estate mogul shown a path to redemption by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future” (via Deadline).

Bill Paxton is in negotiations to join Tom Hanks, Emma Watson and John Boyega in “The Circle”. Karen Gillan is also set to join the cast.

The film adapts Dave Eggers’ novel about “a young woman who is hired for a big job at an online monopoly called the Circle, which links users’ personal emails, social media, banking and purchasing with a universal operating system. The novel turns into a thriller about the perils of life in a digital age where privacy is obsolete” (via Variety).

James Ponsoldt is helming from his own screenplay.

Adrien Brody will star in and produce action-thriller “Expiration”.

Brody will play a former CIA agent, who wakes up in a hospital bed to discover he’s been poisoned, leaving him only 24 hours to find out who his murderer is and see the woman he loves one last time.

Brian Tucker penned the script.

Adam Brody has been cast in writer/director/star Dax Shepard’s adaptation of ’70s TV series “CHiPs”.

Rosa Salazar is also in talks to join Shepard, Michael Pena and Vincent D’Onofrio in the cast.

The TV show centred on “two officers who patrolled the highways of California armed with motorcycles and the tightest khaki cop uniforms in television history. Shepard will play Officer Jon Baker (played in the original by Larry Wilcox), while Michael Pena is attached to play Frank “Ponch” Poncherello, the role Erik Estrada originated. Brody will play another officer on the force” (via Variety).
