Conjuring star boards end-of-the-world flick from Independence Day director

Patrick Wilson, star of “The Conjuring” films, has joined the cast of Roland Emmerich’s end-of-the-world flick “Moonfall”.
Charlie Plummer, who appeared in “All the Money in the World”, has also joined the cast of the Lionsgate-distributed film.
Halle Berry and Josh Gad are already set for the film, the latest fx-driven science-fiction thriller from the director of “Independence Day” and “2012”.

Here’s the plot of the film, via THR : The moon is knocked from its orbit by a mysterious force and set on a collision course with Earth. With just weeks to go before impact, a ragtag team is sent on a seemingly impossible mission to land on the lunar surface and save humanity.

Wilson, whose other varied credits include “The A-Team”, “Aquaman” and “Watchmen”, will play a disgraced former NASA astronaut whose last mission, which ended in tragedy, holds a clue about the impending catastrophe. Plummer will play his teenage son.
