Michael B.Jordan is in talks to headline Denzel Washington’s “A Journal for Jordan”.
“Mudbound” director Virgil Williams adapted the story from Dana Canedy’s best-selling memoir. It tells of her love affair with First Sergeant Charles Monroe King, who kept a journal full of poignant life lessons for their newborn son Jordan while deployed overseas. King was killed in Iraq in 2006 when Jordan was just seven months old, but his spirit lives on in his messages of love to his wife and child.
Jordan, whose newly formed Outlier Society prod co recently announced an adaptation of Africa-set fantasy novel “Black Leopard, Red Wolf”, would also snag a producing credit on the film if it the deal comes together.
No word if Washington would appear in the film or stick to wearing only the director’s cap.
