DeVito keeps the Twins sequel flame burning… just.

It would seem to be that Universal are tossing out Josh Gad’s script for this long-proposed “Twins” sequel.

“Triplets”, first announced sometime in BC, would see Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito’s not-so-identical twin siblings find out they’ve a third brother, played by Eddie Murphy. The movie has been in the works for eons – and last we heard, scripter Gad said the studio weren’t biting.

Now, according to DeVito in a new interview, they’re “developing the screenplay right now”.

Gad said the screenplay was done so either that means someone else is now taking a crack at it, he’s doing a new rewrite or the funnyman is just holding us over until the ‘never gonna happen’ update.

“That’s going to happen…hopefully”, said DeVito.

I dunno, man…

Three years back, “Frozen” actor Gad explained that the cast loved his script but the studio weren’t ready to pull the trigger.

“It’s about getting the movie financed at this point which I have nothing to do with. I’ve done my part and now the onus is on the collaborators whose project this is to go and do it.”

“I wrote that script with my partner Ryan Dixon out of a complete love and admiration for Twins which was one of those movies that just spoke to me as a kid,” Gad continued.

“It was sort of a love letter to those guys… I would love to see that movie made one day.”

Hope so, too…

… but I dunno, man.
