Dick Clark dies aged 82

TV icon Dick Clark has died of a heart attack, aged 82.

Clark, known for hosting “American Bandstand” and an annual New Years Eve event on the tube, had entered hospital on Tuesday for an outpatient procedure.

Celebrities like Ryan Seacrest, who took over as the host of “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” after Clark had a stroke in 2004, have taken to Twitter to say some sweet things about the man. “I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend Dick Clark. He truly has been one of the greatest influences in my life.”
