Drover’s Wife star to play the Vampire Lestat

Aussie actor Sam Reid takes over the role played by Tom Cruise in “Interview with the Vampire” for a new TV series

Australian actor Sam Reid, one of the stars of the forthcoming “The Drover’s Wife”, has landed the lead role of the Vampire Lestat in a new TV series based on Anne Rice’s ‘Vampire Chronicles’ series of novels.

Tom Cruise played Lestat in 1994’s “Interview with a Vampire”, while Stuart Townsend took over the role for “Queen of the Damned” (2001).

Reid, whose other credits include “2:22”, “The Railway Man”, “Lambs of God” and “The Riot Club”, has emerged as an in-demand player in recent years, especially where TV is concerned.

Rolin Jones is the writer, creator and showrunner of “Interview with the Vampire”, which is expected to air 2022 on AMC and AMC+.
