Ever wonder when Harry Potter learnt to tie his laces?

JK Rowling has conquered the world of books and she’s proved herself on the big screen. Now she’s set to tackle the stage.

While she won’t write it herself, Rowling will work with a writer to tell the story of Harry Potter’s, early years.

She will also co-produce with Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender.

A post on Rowling’s Facebook page says the show will “explore the previously untold story of Harry’s early years as an orphan and outcast.” It also promises to bring back some of our favourite Potter characters.

Rowling said, “Over the years I have received countless approaches about turning Harry Potter into a theatrical production, but Sonia and Colin’s vision was the only one that really made sense to me, and which had the sensitivity, intensity and intimacy I thought appropriate for bringing Harry’s story to the stage. After a year in gestation it is exciting to see this project moving on to the next phase. I’d like to thank Warner Bros. for their continuing support in this project.”

The project is due to get underway next year, with deliberation now being given to possible writers and directors.
