Cloris Leachman Vs. Razor-toothed Lake Creature?
Caught up with filmmaker Dave Flores (“Boa Vs Python”) earlier today, who told me a little about “Lake Placid 2”, the crocodile-gets-hungry outing that he recently wrapped in Bulgaria.
Flores said he scored the gig of directing the sequel – which will unspool on the Sci Fi Channel, before a DVD outing from FOX – because “..My first movie, Boa Vs Python, got great ratings on it’s premier and continues to this day for the Scifi network. SciFi and Fox wanted to partner up on the sequel to Lake Placid and I was brought on because of my success with the comedy/creature genre.”
The sequel, shot last year, is set “Seven years later the baby crocs have all grown up and now the little town of Lake Placid has a whole new set of problems”, tells Flores, whose last film as director was “S.S Doomtrooper” starring Corin Nemec and Ben Cross.
Joining the previously announced Cloris Leachman (she’s playing a character named Sadie Bickerman; Betty White’s character in the original was Dolores Bickerman, so they’re obviously related), John Schneider and Chad Collins are Sam McMurray (“Killer Pad”), Sarah Lefleur (“Shall we Dance”), Alicia Zeigler (“Legacy”), Joe Holt (“Law & Order”), Justin Urich (“The Rage : Carrie 2”), and Ian Reed Kessler (TVs “The Loop”).
