Fernandez, Noth, Parker, Benson are Chronically Metropolitan

Shiloh Fernandez (“Evil Dead), two-time Golden Globe nominee Chris Noth (“Sex and The City”), two-time Golden Globe winner and Emmy-Award winner Mary-Louise Parker (“Weeds”) and Ashley Benson (“Pretty Little Liars”) are set to star in the comedy “Chronically Metropolitan”, it was announced today by The Community producers Jamin O’Brien (“Killer Joe”) and Daniel L. Blanc (“Boynton Beach Club”).

Xavier Manrique makes his feature film debut from a script by newcomer Nicholas Schutt. Oscar-winning director David Frankel (“Marley & Me”) is attached as executive producer.

Principal photography on the project is slated to begin in February.

The pic tells the story of first time novelist Fenton Dillane (Fernandez), who returns to New York City unannounced ready to reclaim his lost love, Jessie (Benson), who unbeknownst to him, is engaged to be married. Fenton enlists his head strong sister, Layla and his drug dealing best friend to win her back. His actions set in motion a chain of events that affect the lives of everyone around him for better and for worse.

Noth will play Fenton’s Maileresque father, Christopher, a successful novelist who’s as recognized for his Page Six worthy antics as he is for his writing. Parker will star as Diana, Fenton’s long suffering mother. A sophisticated woman, she finds herself at a crossroads in her marriage and her life. Fueled by a new found appreciation of controlled substances, she will be compelled to make hard choices likely to fracture her already fragile family.

“We are very excited to be collaborating with first timer Xavier Manrique and his mentor, David Frankel,” said The Community Co-Head Jamin O’Brien. “We want to make films that the studios have abandoned in lieu of tentpoles. CHRONICALLY METROPOLITAN is incredibly smart and full of depth, all while being commercially viable and accessible to large audiences.”

“Producer Jamin O’Brien has assembled a strong cast anchored by the talented and charming Chris Noth and Mary-Louise Parker, who will be able to showcase their comedic skills with this entertaining and light-hearted script. We look forward to launching sales on CHRONICALLY METROPOLITAN and introducing the project to our partners in Berlin,” said Anisi.
