First look at Ryan Keira Armstrong in Firestarter update

Ryan Kiera Armstrong, one of the stars of the upcoming “Tomorrow War”, has landed the lead role of Charlie in the reboot of Stephen King’s “Firestarter”.

The update of the 1984 feature is being produced by Blumhouse, Weed Road Pictures and Universal, with Keith Thomas directing from a script adapted by Scott Teems.

Zac Efron and Michael Greyeyes are also in the film, which tells of a young girl with pyrokinetic abilities that is abducted by a secret government agency that wants to harness her powerful gift as a weapon.Drew Barrymore played the title role in the original film version, which was based on King’s 1980 novel.
