Rachel Talalay, whose genre efforts include ’90s classics “Freddy’s Dead” and “Tank Girl” will direct ”A Babysitter’s Guide To Monster Hunting” for Netflix.
Based on the Joe Ballarini children’s three-book series, the film will boast a screenplay by the author with Ivan Reitman (“Ghostbusters”) among the producers.
When babysitter Kelly Ferguson’s charge is kidnapped by monsters, Kelly is recruited by a secret society of badass babysitters, who protect children destined to change the world.
The movie, which Walden Media had been trying to get off the ground for years, is based on the first installment of Ballarini’s book trilogy.
