Hollywood’s hottest screenwriter joins two big franchises

It would seem Hollywood has got a new in-demand screenwriter.

Christina Hodson has just boarded two big studio tentpoles, with Deadline reporting she cracked Paramount’s “Bumblebee” script while TheWrap brings word she’s scripting Warner Bros upcoming “Harley Quinn” film.

“Bumblebee” is a spinoff of the lucrative “Transformers” franchise, based on the titular character. The studio had a writers room assembled to flesh out the Hasbro universe, however Deadline reports Hodson was the one who “cracked the spinoff and turned in a script that will make it possible for Paramount to mount the film for 2018.”

As for Warner Bros and DC’s Harley Quinn/”Birds of Prey” project, Hodson is writing the script which is not a solo Quinn movie, but a project featuring multiple female superheroes — and possibly villains — in the DC Comics universe. Margot Robbie, who played Quinn in this year’s “Suicide Squad”, is attached to reprise her role and produce.
