Harry Potter spin-off set for November 2016 release

J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world is set to be brought to life on the big screen once again on November 18, 2016.

The hit author’s “Harry Potter” spinoff, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, will be the first in a trilogy, the film based on the book penned by Rowling in 2001.

Described as an extension of the world brought to life in the “Harry Potter” books, rather than a prequel or sequel, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is set roughly seven decades before the beginning of the “Harry Potter” story.

The novel follows Newt Scamander, a ‘magizoologist’ from New York who is the fictional author of the titled book which is used by students in the “Harry Potter” franchise.

Rowling is adapting the script however Warner Bros. has not yet secured a producer, director or actors.

The project was first announced last September.
