Aligning their preview coverage of the next two “Hunger Games” movies – the first of the two-part “Mockingjay” films is released in November – EW has a new pic of Jennifer Lawrence in Katniss-mode.
Of “The Hunger Games : Mockingjay Part 1” and “The Hunger Games : Mockingkay Part 2”, director Francis Lawrence says they’re “two different, very distinct stories.”
Adds Lawrence, “Instead of changing the plot and changing characters what we did was have the opportunity to show scenes that could have been happening at different times in the book,” says Francis Lawrence of the split. “For us it’s world expansion instead of changing things. I think it’s exciting for the fan to see certain things. So we’ve been able to open the world up in this and see some new places. We get to see some new districts this time and the scope gets quite large.”
Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, Stef Dawson, Evan Ross, Gwendoline Christie, Patina Miller, Wes Chatham, Elden Henson, Robert Knepper, Michelle Forbes and Eugenie Bondurant also star in the films, with “Mockingjay Part 1” released November 21.
