Blanchett joins the cast of “Indy 4”
I love Cate Blanchett, don’t get me wrong, but…
… Is she right for “Indiana Jones 4”?
I mean, what the heck is ‘Oscar Winner Cate Blanchett’ doing mixing it up with the hatted archaeologist? It just doesn’t sit right. Best-case scenario, the script is fantastic – and she wanted in as soon as she read the role of ‘Indy’s latest squeeze’. Worst case scenario, the script actually isn’t that great… and Paramount’s a little worried… so they’ve decided to use their bank to bring in whatever big stars they can.
The Hollywood Reporter isn’t saying – probably because they don’t know yet, which is fair enough – who Blanchett will be playing in the new “Indiana Jones” movie. I guess what can be assumed is that because Blanchett is playing the head chick, Karen Allen’s hopes of returning for this new movie – her character was in an earlier draft – have been dashed.
