While development continues on a new “Friday the 13th” movie, The CW is said to be considering bringing Jason Voorhees to the small screen.
Franchise producer Sean Cunningham tells Cinema Blend that a series that takes place at the “real” Crystal Lake (as opposed to the fictional ones in the movies), where murders have started to occur, is a possibility. The “Wes Craven’s New Nightmare”-esque series will therefore take place in a world where the “Friday” movies existed, so we’ll be able to see how they affected the residents of the real town (no, there isn’t one) behind the films.
The Jason of the series would be unlike the one in the movie and be more of a “serious backwoods inspired killer”.
The CW have apparently expressed the most interest.
