Jeff Wadlow to helm comic book movie Danger Girl

One of the most talented and passionate movie-makers of generation-now, Jeff Wadlow (“Kick-Ass 2”, the upcoming “Fantasy Island”) will welcomingly bring J.Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell’s “Danger Girl” to the big screen.

Wadlow, who cut his teeth with the fun werewolf flick “Cry Wolf” (2005) before moving onto solid action fare like “Never Back Down” (2008) and the “Kick-Ass” sequel (2013), is a snug fit for the action-adventure flick – which focuses on an all-female team of super spies.

For the unversed, the main quartet are Abbey Chase, Sydney Savage, Natalie Kasstle and ‘Silicon Val’. With Wadlow’s ties to such actresses as Chloe Grace Moretz, Olivia Cooke and Lucy Hale- one could already imagine the wicked cast he could possibly assemble.

Constantin Film house the film, with a producing team that includes, among others, another action pro, Adrian Askarieh, of “Hitman” and “Jonny Quest”. Nice!

Umair Aleem had first stab at the screenplay; Wadlow will do rewrites.

Wadlow, who recently wrapped a big-screen reboot of “Fantasy Island” for Blumhouse, has been attached to a couple of high-profile flicks that didn’t make it to the starting line – including a sequel to “Point Break” (1991), which would’ve starred Cam Gigandet, and the long-gestating “Masters of the Universe” movie (now set to go with Aaron and Adam Nee). Those not kicking off, freed the filmmaker up so he could work with Blumhouse on a couple of projects though, so it all balanced out nicely.

Congrats, Jeff – looking forward to “Danger Girl”.
