Seemingly determined to ride the family film train a little longer, “Bumblebee” and “Daddy’s Home 2” star John Cena is in final negotiations to board a new kid-friendly loco at Paramount Players.
“Playing with Fire”, a family comedy that revolves around a group of rugged wildfire fighters who meet their match when they rescue a trio of rambunctious children, would be one of the Paramount offshoot’s first films. Paramount Players was launched in June with veteran producer and executive Brian Robbins spearheading.
Cena, fresh from the successful adult laffer “Blockers”, which generated $94 million worldwide, next appears in “Bumbleebee” opposite Hailee Steinfeld. He’ll also voice a character in Universal’s “The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle”.
