Lawyer Jones disbarred

Tommy Lee Jones has given the finger to “Lincoln Lawyer”, Lakeshore Entertainment’s adaptation of the Michael Connelly novel, that he was attached to direct and co-star in opposite Matthew McConaughey.

Lakeshore hopes to find a replacement for Jones shortly, hoping to film next spring.

McConaughey would play moderately successful criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller, who operates all around the large area of Los Angeles county out of a Lincoln Town Car driven by a former client working off his legal fees. Most of his clients are drug dealers and gangsters, but this one deals with an unusually important case: the wealthy Los Angeles realtor Louis Roulet, who is accused of assault and attempted murder by a woman, and at first he appears to be innocent and set up by the “victim”. But Roulet’s lies and many surprising revelations tear Mickey’s theory of the case to shreds, making Mickey reconsider the situation of Jesus Menendez, a former client who’s now languishing in San Quentin State Prison after pleading guilty of a similar and mysteriously related crime.

Its likely Jones will instead concentrate on an adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s “Islands in the Stream” that he’s been toying with for a spell.
