Liam Neeson is set to star in three-time Academy Award-nominee producer/director Robert Lorenz’ (“Trouble with the Curve”) upcoming action-thriller “The Minuteman”, it was announced today by Voltage Pictures President and COO Jonathan Deckter. Production on the highly anticipated film will begin in September 2019 on location in New Mexico and Ohio.
Voltage will introduce the film, which is already poised to be one of the hottest titles at the upcoming Marche du Film, to buyers in Cannes. CAA and UTA Independent Film Group will co-rep US rights.
Lorenz directs from a script he co-wrote with Chris Charles and Danny Kravitz. A frequent Clint Eastwood collaborator, who earned three Academy Award Best Picture nominations as a producer on “American Sniper”, “Letters from Iwo Jima” and “Mystic River”, Lorenz follows up his acclaimed directorial debut “Trouble with the Curve”, starring Eastwood, Amy Adams and John Goodman with this poignant hero with commanding presence story.
“The Minuteman” tells the pulse-racing story of a retired Vietnam veteran who finds himself responsible for the life of a young boy, who is being hunted by the cartel.
“The Minuteman” is produced by Zero Gravity Management’s Tai Duncan (“Proud Mary”) and Mark Williams (“The Accountant”, “Honest Thief”), alongside Sculptor Media’s (“Imperium”) Warren Goz and Eric Gold. Raven Capital Management’s James Masciello will executive produce. Voltage’s CEO Nicolas Chartier and Jonathan Deckter also executive produce the film.
