Warner Brothers announced today that “Revolutionary Road” actor Michael Shannon is set to play the villain in director Zach Synders Superman reboot “Man of Steel”.
Shannon was cast as General Zod, the leader of armed forces on Krypton and will be up against Henry Cavill who’s already been set to play the man of steel.
In the statement, Snyder stated, “Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role.”
Shannon will be joining Amy Adams, as Lois Lane as well as Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Martha and Jonathan Kent.
