Along with the recent news that “Batman vs. Superman” would be delayed ten months, news that the flick also wouldn’t start production until around April (originally, February). Deadline reports today that the film’s kick-off day hasn’t been pushed back at all, and production begins next month as planned. This, in fact, is similar to something I heard yesterday – from a top-level source – who advised me that the actors had been working out throughout the holidays, ready for their February start on the movie.
Rick Gosnett (“The Vampire Diaries”) and Danielle Panabaker (“Friday the 13th”) have joined the cast of The CW’s “The Flash”. He’s playing Detective Eddie Thawne, “a recent transfer to the Central City Police Department, whose past is a mystery and who harbors a dark secret.” Panabaker is Caitlin Snow, “a highly intelligent bioengineering expert who lost her fiancé during an explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs.” Yep, ‘Killer Frost’ and ‘Reverse Flash’ are headed to town, kids! (Deadline)

Simon Kinberg, executive producer of Disney XD’s “Star Wars Rebels”, tells us what we can expect from the forthcoming ‘Wars toon. “The world we’re creating is an Imperial world. You’re seeing the impact of the Empire, of stormtroopers around the galaxy, abusing and oppressing people. Thematically and politically, it goes to some dark places. But for the tone of the show we took our cues from the original movies, which had fun and adventure and swashbuckling with emotion and grounded human characters. We took all our cues from the original films. Obviously there are slight tonal differences between New Hope, Empire and Jedi. But I think the closest intended voice of the show is A New Hope. So there are places where we get into darker backstories, there are places we see how cruel and malevolent the Empire can be, but for the most part it’s a fun and character-driven story. Again taking our cues from the original films, it’s less maybe political than the prequels and more personal. It starts with a few character introductions that will precede the show. I wrote the first two episodes, they’re like a one-hour story across two episodes where we introduce the main characters in the show.” (EW)
Joss Whedon is taking some superheroes on a working vacation to Italy and South Africa. “The Avengers : Age of Ultron” is headed offshore for much of it’s shoot, it seems. Sharon Stone is to star in TNT’s new series “Agent X”. The “Basic Instinct” star will play “America’s first female Vice President, Natalie Maccabee, a woman with brains, beauty, and a cool composure that belies a restless mind. After the death of her husband, a Senate candidate, Natalie opted to run in his place. After a rapid rise as a political star, she now finds herself the newly elected Vice President of the United States. Initially apprehensive that her job will be ceremonial in nature, she soon learns that it comes with a Top Secret duty: protecting the Constitution in times of great crisis with the aid of her Chief Steward and a secret operative designated “Agent X.” (Coming Soon)
