Oliver Stone presents the Margaret Thatcher story

Pill-poppin, DVD-hating (kid you not, the man loathes the format), trouble-tickling filmmaker Oliver Stone has announced plans to do another biopic on a famous figure in history.

According to WENN, the "Alexander" helmer has plans to do a film based on former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

He says, "Margaret Thatcher is an amazing woman and a good subject for a film. I’m thinking about Meryl Streep to play the Iron Lady."

Having seen the returns for his latest film, Streep’s apparently changed her number.

A friend of the director tells the site that Stone’s done enough movies on prominent male figures – he’s looking for some female subjects (aren’t we all). "Oliver is one of Baroness Thatcher’s greatest fans. Alexander was slammed by critics, so maybe he think it’s time to concentrate on a great woman for a film. Thatcher was one of the most powerful political figures in the world and her life has been as colorful as any superstar."
