Poster for Adam Sandler’s Jack and Jill

Is Adam Sandler desperate for money these days or what? I like some of his movies, I do. “The Waterboy”, “Happy Madison”, “Big Daddy”…but for some reason, he decided to make “Jack and Jill”. Why? I don’t know. The first time I heard the title before anything was ever done or plot was revealed, I thought it’d be a take on the nursery rhyme and as we’ve all come to learn, it’s not. No. Instead it’s a movie featuring Sandler in a dual role where he dresses up in drag.

For those still interested, here’s the synopsis:

“Jack and Jill” is a comedy focusing on Jack Sadelstein (Adam Sandler), a successful advertising executive in Los Angeles with a beautiful wife and kids, who dreads one event each year: the Thanksgiving visit of his identical twin sister Jill (also Adam Sandler). Jill’s neediness and passive-aggressiveness is maddening to Jack, turning his normally tranquil life upside down. Katie Holmes plays Erin, Jack’s wife.

Opening in theaters on November 11, the film is directed by Dennis Dugan and also stars Al Pacino (why?), Dana Carvey and Tim Meadows.
