Alas, everyone’s favorite Donut-spruiker – from “Die Hard” and, if briefly, “Die Hard 2” – has signed with IFC to host an all-day “Die Hard” Christmas Marathon. The sesh will include back-to-back screenings of “Die Hard”, ”Die Hard with a Vengeance” and ”Live Free or Die Hard”. Yep, that means VelJohnson – who you older folks will also remember as on TVs “Family Matters” – will be waxing lyrical on the “Die Hard” films he was unjustly not included in too!
It’s decided. Die Hard is, and always will be, a Christmas movie. 30 years later, we’re still terrorized with holiday cheer by Hans Gruber (a career-making Alan Rickman) and his merry henchmen. Take off your shoes (and your socks), kick back with the ones you love and get ready for John McClane (Bruce Willis at his best) to give us the best gift you could possibly ask for on Christmas in 2018 – pure, unadulterated American justice. Oh and did we mention that Mr. Winslow himself Reginald VelJohnson is hosting? Yippie-Ki-Yay!
Earlier this week, Fox confirmed once and for all that “Die Hard” is a Christmas movie. But whaddatheyknow? I’m with Bruno Willis – “Die Hard” is a bloody ANYTIME movie, not a Christmas movie!
After this marathon, hopefully the studio decides to do the only righteous thing.. and add Al Powell back into the “Die Hard” fold for the next film.
