lionheartAnother day, another remake of another Jean-Claude Van Damme biffo classic.

Hot on the heels of the upcoming remake of the Muscles from Brussels’ ”Kickboxer” (1988), Hollywood’s decided it’s also time to redo the 1990 actioner “Lionheart” (aka “Wrong Bet”).

Moonstone Entertainment will produce the new film, which will be shopped at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Moonstone acquired the Imperial library, of which both Van Damme classics “Lionheart” and “Black Eagle” belong to, in 2013.

The production would shoot in Canada.

Moonstone’s Etchie Stroh isn’t a newbie to the world of martial-arts action cinema, his companies past efforts include Dolph Lundgren vehicle “Hidden Agenda” and Golden Globe Nominee “The Promise” with Hiroyuki Sanada.
