Caffeinated Clint
Seemingly determined to continue ‘shaking it up’, the unpredictable Jeff Bridges (“True Grit”, “Tron Legacy”, “Crazy Heart”) is said to be following up his superlative turn as Rooster Cogburn with a lively turn in an undead flick.
“R.I.P.D” stars Ryan Reynolds (and at one stage, Zach Galifianakis; he left because of a scheduling clash – or rumours of a Mel Gibson cameo) as an undead police officer stationed at a precint full of zombie cops. Robert Schwentke directs.
Based on a comic book of the same name, “R.I.P.D” has in tow a cool a little plot :
Welcome to the Rest In Peace Department — the devoted, yet dead, officers of divine law enforcement “patrolling the deadbeat…reporting to one boss.” Yep — THAT boss. Nick Cruz was murdered by an unknown assailent, at the height of his personal and professional life. Now he’s traded a hundred years of service to the R.I.P.D. in exchange for a shot at finding who killed him. Unfortunately his search will take him to Hell and back — literally!
