Rey’s father was revealed in The Force Awakens!?

Ever since the film hit, we’ve wondered – just how many boxes of cigarettes has Carrie Fisher smoked since the days of the golden bikini!?

And also, who might young Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) father be?

“Star Wars : The Force Awakens” left if cryptic, of course, hoping the big twist will somewhat rival the one our forefathers were riveted by back in the ’80s when it was revealed he was he’s poppa.
It likely won’t, because I believe we already have a good enough idea whose sperm helped produce the film’s heroine, but like you… I still wanna know!

Daisy Ridley suggests we’re all as dumb as a Brendan Fraser movie when she says “isn’t it obvious? it was revealed in the first movie?”. Yes, she essentially came out and said that today. As far as she was concerned, something in “The Force Awakens” tips audiences off to her the plucky heroine’s father is and none of us got it. No Midi-chlorians in any of us.

Seriously, did you spot it?

No, me either.

Unless she’s referring to the scene at the end of the film with Luke Skywalker? doubtful, that’s too obvious. Maybe she’s referring to the big flashback scene, where she sees flashes of her past while touching the saber (happens to the best of us girls)? More likely.

While confirming the we’ll finally find out in “Star Wars Episode VIII” what her character’s last name is, Ridley tells Time Out London that she was convinced audiences would instantly guess when they saw last year’s “Force Awakens”.

“I thought a lot was answered in ‘The Force Awakens’. Then after the screening I went for a drink with my agent and everyone, and we were chatting away and I realized that oh, in their minds it’s not answered at all!”

Now convinced we don’t know, she’s sworn to secrecy – and is loving that she gets to hold this over us.

“I think curiosity is a wonderful thing. And I do find it quite funny that people keep asking about it. Just yesterday a guy asked to take a picture with me and went, “Is Luke your dad?” And I was like, “Chill out, you’ll see!””

While we will find out who the father is next year, we won’t find out anything about the sexual act that resulted in said parentage.

“I’d love to see the look on people’s faces,” she said. “But with answers come more questions, and there’s definitely going to be enough to keep people going for another two years!”

You have a year to put down your bets before the results are tallied on December 15, 2017.
